Tourism in the City of Island Park
The City of Island Park is for all other descriptive words unique in it's entirety. The old Hwy 191 bed is the City's main street.
The City is lined with fine lodges, motels, restaurants, lounges, c-stores, gas stations, tackle shops and RV rentals including boats, 4-wheelers, motorcycles and snow machines
Island Park is a vacation destination. The Area is known for it's wild life, beautiful mountains, reservoirs, streams, river, lakes, hiking trails, camping, great fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing, and snow machining.
Island Park's clear skys make for a photographers dream. Being in the center of the Targhee National Forest with various kinds of trees, foliage, plants and flowers. It is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors.
The Island Park area is an ancient volcanic caldera with scenic mountain ranges complete with creeks and springs that drain into the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, Henry's Lake and the Island Park Reservoir. Lodge Pole Pines, Douglas-Fir and Aspen trees dominate the landscape and surround the open meadows to complement this beautiful mountain community.
